File Preparation
PDF's are the preferred file type when supplying files for Cadillac Printing. When a PDF is correctly setup and supplied you know that you are going to get expected results. File size is also reduced which makes transportation of the files quicker and easier. Even though we prefer not, native files with all links and fonts can be supplied. However, this does provide opportunities for unexpected results. Document Size: Documents should always be set up to the trim size specified by Cadillac.
Text area: Live type area must be clear of all trim edges by at least 5mm.
Bleeds: Please allow 5mm bleed where required.
Trim Marks: Trim marks should be offset by at least 5mm to ensure they do not creep onto the printed job.
Formats: PDF's distilled from Postscript files are an industry standard. Job options determine how fonts, image resolutions, compression types, etc are handled. Job options using specifications tailored for Cadillac can be obtained from Wellcom Group using the contact details below.
Colour Space: No RGB files should be supplied for output. All files should be converted to CMYK before being sent for output. Unexpected colour reproduction may be experienced if RGB file are supplied.
Pages: Composite (non-separated) files need to be supplied for trapping purposes. All pages should be printed as single pages, not as spreads.
File Supply: PDF's can be uploaded via our FTP site.

File Checking: It is important that your files are checked thoroughly before they are submitted to us for proofing. Corrections may result in problems with your files. They may also incur additional charges.
PDF Softproofs: The order you are viewing these pages is the sequence they will print, if there are no folios on the pages please ensure all pages are in correct order.
